• Cancer Patient Support Room

Image and self-confidence are important parts of the healing process. The Patient Support Room at Mohawk Valley Radiation Medicine is a place where cancer patients can relax and take advantage of many resources, including:

    • Books
    • Brochures
    • A computer to access information about available treatment and support mechanisms
    • Access to free wigs in a private, comfortable setting and other beauty services.

The Patient Support room is also used for The American Cancer Society’s free “Look Good… Feel Better” program, which offers cancer patients beauty tips to help them improve their appearance and self image. The program helps patients manage the effects of treatment by providing skin care and make-up techniques, and wig, scarf, hat and turban demonstrations. Participants receive $200 in free products to help them “Look Good and Feel Better.”

    Open to the public.

To ensure patient privacy, we encourage you to call ahead to set up a time to visit the Patient Support Room. We want you to feel comfortable and secure while dealing with such personal and private issues, without interruptions or distractions.
