Nursing Home residents at Rome Memorial Hospital
    vaccinated against COVID-19

Nursing home resident Philip Murphy beat COVID twice and wasn’t taking any more chances. He was the first resident vaccinated at Rome Memorial Hospital’s Residential Health Care Facility (RHCF) Wednesday, Dec. 30th.

The RHCF partnered with Walgreens Pharmacy to administer the FDA approved Pfizer vaccine to its residents and staff based upon the safety and effectiveness demonstrated in clinical trials.

Currently, in-person visitation has to be suspended any time a resident or staff member tests positive to protect the residents and staff and limit transmission.

Walgreens will return in three weeks to administer the second dose to the residents and staff.

Located on the third floor of Rome Memorial Hospital, the 80-bed Residential Health Care Facility (RHCF) provides long-term care, short-term rehab, and respite care with unsurpassed quality and compassion. Even in the midst of a pandemic, the RHCF earned the highest rating as a Best Nursing Home by U.S. News & World Report for short-term rehab for the second consecutive year.
