    Breathe easier.  Sleep better.

Rome Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine provides care for patients with lung diseases and sleep disorders, as well as critical care consults for critically ill patients with respiratory failure and patients with complex medical conditions requiring intensive care.

    Breathe Easier

At Rome Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine, one of our goals is to help you breathe easier so you can improve your quality of life and stay out of the hospital through better management of your chronic lung problems.

Acute exacerbation of COPD is one of the most common reasons patients are admitted to the hospital. Focused management can improve a patient’s quality of life by relieving symptoms and preventing acute exacerbations and the need for hospitalization. We work closely with Rome Memorial Hospital’s Cardiopulmonary Services Department for diagnostic testing and treatment services.

The hospital’s pulmonary rehabilitation program can help you slowly rebuild your physical strength and conditioning, while also providing education and information to help you better manage your chronic lung disease.

    Treatment provided for:

    Pulmonary conditions, such as:
    -COPD
    -Asthma
    -Interstitial lung disease
    -Lung cancer
    -Pulmonary hypertension

    Sleep Better

The specialists at Rome Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine can also help you get a better night’s sleep to improve your overall health.

Nearly 70 million Americans suffer from chronic sleep problems. Sleep deprivation is associated with injuries, chronic diseases, mental illnesses, poor quality of life and lost work productivity.

Patients come to our office because they are not getting a good night’s sleep. Whether you are not waking up feeling refreshed, having a hard time staying awake throughout the day, or have a problem with chronic snoring, a sleep study can make a big difference in your overall health picture.

Recent studies have shown a strong link between sleep apnea and hypertension, diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

After a patient has a sleep study at Rome Memorial Hospital’s Sleep Disorders Center, a treatment plan is developed based upon the results.

    Treatment provided for:

Sleep Disorders (Adults & Children ages 2+)
-Sleep apnea and sleep-related breathing disturbances
    -Insomnia
    -Parasomnias
-Circadian rhythm and sleep-wake cycle disorders
    -Narcolepsy and sleep-related movement disorders
