    Rome Memorial Hospital President/CEO Retires

David LundquistPresident/Chief Executive Officer David Lundquist has informed the Board of Trustees that he will resign his position with Rome Memorial Hospital. Mr. Lundquist cited the need to spend more time with his family in Oklahoma and Arkansas as a reason for his resignation. His last day will be Friday, Nov. 1.

The board respects his decision to focus on his family and said they are pleased with what the hospital has accomplished these last three years, specifically the changes in patient care delivery standards and culture. Mr. Lundquist is looking forward to beginning the next phase of his life with his family.

“My retirement comes at a time when the hospital is positioned for growth with the addition of several new specialists,” said Mr. Lundquist, who has served as hospital CEO since March 2016. “It has been a pleasure to work with a dedicated team of people who are committed to delivering exceptional care for this community.”

At an upcoming meeting, the board will initiate the process for the search and hiring of the next president and CEO. In the meantime, Mark Murphy, chief strategy officer at St. Joseph’s Health, has been named interim president and CEO while that search is undertaken.
