    Neuromuscular disorders, including Multiple Sclerosis

    • Movement disorders, including Parkinson’s Disease

      She takes an individualized approach because often the same disease will present itself differently in different situations.

      She assesses each patient as a whole and evaluates how the brain and central nervous system are working to get a true picture of the patient’s total health picture.

      For her patient’s convenience several diagnostic testing services are available in her office including:

      Electromyography (EMG), which measures the electrical impulses of muscles at rest and during contraction;

      Nerve conduction studies (NCS), which determine how well individual nerves can transmit electrical signals; and

      Electroencephalography (EEG), a test in which the electrical signals of the brain are recorded.

      Dr. Jacob received her medical degree from the University of Calicut, Kerala, India. She completed her internship and residency in neurology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, TN, where she was chief resident. She also completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology and neuromuscular medicine at the University of Tennessee.

      Before relocating to Rome, Dr. Jacob was an attending neurologist at Skaggs Regional Medical Center in Branson, MO.

      She is board certified in both neurology and clinical neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

      “I treat my patients the same way I would want my own family treated. I feel it is important to get the test results to you as soon as they are available to alleviate your anxiety. It is also important to me that patients and their families be involved in every aspect of the treatment process.” --- Dr. Jacob
