Rome Health Executive Team

    AnneMarie Walker-Czyz, RN, Ed.D.,NEA-BC, President/Chief Executive Officer
    AnneMarie Walker-Czyz, RN, Ed.D., NEA-BC, was named President/Chief Executive Officer of Rome Health, effective March 1, 2021. Employed at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital since 1997, she served as the Chief Nursing Office, Vice President of Clinical and Educational Services and Chief Operating Officer before joining Rome Health.

    She earned her nursing degree from the St. Joseph’s College of Nursing and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University. She also holds a Master of Science and Clinical Nurse Specialist degree from Upstate Medical University. In 2015, she graduated from St. John Fisher College earning an Education Doctorate degree in Executive Leadership. Research areas of interest have been in the impact of innovation adoption on quality and cost in nursing care. She is also certified as a Nurse Executive from the ANCC.

    Her passions lie in the promotion of Shared Governance and promoting nursing leadership at the point of care delivery, transforming acute care services to be consistent with the overall strategy for health care reform and developing multidisciplinary teams to achieve higher quality, safety, and patient engagement at a lower cost.

    Ryan Thompson 
     Ryan Thompson, Vice President of Operations

    A graduate of LeMoyne College, Syracuse, Mr. Thompson earned his Master of Business Education from Colombia College of Missouri. He has earned certificates in strategic planning from Cornell and project management from Syracuse University. He joins RMH with nearly a decade of leadership experience at St. Joseph's Health, where he was integrally involved in strategic planning, expansion and optimization of strategic service lines. He was named Vice President of Operations in 2020.

     Silverman, Russell 
    Russell Silverman, MD, FACC, Vice President/Chief Medical Officer

    Dr. Silverman earned his medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, where he completed his residency in cardiovascular disease in 1983. A member of the St. Joseph’s medical staff for more than 35 years, Dr. Silverman has been a driving force to the growth and national recognition of the St. Joseph’s cardiac service line. He was appointed Chief Medical Officer of Rome Memorial Hospital in 2020.

    Dewey R. Rowlands, Vice President/Chief Financial Officer

    Mr. Rowlands received his bachelor’s degree from Utica College. He joined the hospital’s staff as its Chief Financial Officer in 2014 bringing with him more than 32 years of experience in healthcare finance.  

        Samantha Vining 
    Samantha Vining, MS, RN, Vice President Clinical Services/Chief Nursing Officer 

    Mrs. Vining earned her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Russell Sage College and her master of science in nursing from Sage Graduate School. A certified LEAN Black Belt, Samantha advanced her leadership and clinical practice skills through progressive professional development.  She joined the hospital in 2020.

     Scott Burns  Scott Burns, RPh, Interim Vice President/Chief Quality Officer 

    A 2000 graduate of Northeastern University, Mr. Burns joined Rome Memorial Hospital as a staff pharmacist in 2008 after working in the retail pharmacy sector for eight years. He was promoted to Director of Pharmacy in 2010 and Interim Vice President/Chief Quality Officer in 2021. 

      Anthony Joseph 
    Anthony Joseph, Senior Services Administrator
     Mr. Joseph is a licensed nursing home administrator who earned his bachelor’s degree from Utica College, plus a master’s of social work and a master’s of public administration from Syracuse University. He retired in 2016 as vice president of long term care services at Samaritan Health Systems in Watertown. Prior to that, Joseph was administrator of the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford and the Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility, director/CEO of the Madison County Office for the Aging, and administrator/CEO of Mohawk Valley Nursing Home in Ilion. He also served as administrator at Rome Memorial Hospital’s RHCF from 1995-97.
    Cassie Evans Winter, Vice President Communications/Marketing

    Mrs. Winter received her bachelor's degree in sociology from Texas A & M University, College Station, Texas. A former reporter, she joined the hospital’s staff in 1998 as the public relations manager. She was promoted to public relations director in 2002 and named Assistant Vice President Communications/Marketing in 2006. In 2012, she was promoted to Vice President Communications/Marketing.
