    Education: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor Science in Nursing preferred. BLS Required. Specialty certification in area of expertise within one year of hire.


    Rome Memorial Hospital is seeking part-time Unit-Based Clinical Educators to facilitate, educate, orient, precept, mentor and guide members of the healthcare team. 

    •2E/2N Clinical Educator 0.5FTE
    •Surgical Services Clinical Educator 0.5FTE

    Educators will coordinate professional development and career growth utilizing evidence-based practice guidelines in order to assure exceptional patient outcomes. Educators are also responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating standards of care and/or protocols that result in changes to improve patient care, practice, and/or systems. Contributions are made to the nursing profession through consultation, presentation, and/or publication.   

    This role is focused on designing, implementing and evaluating processes within the clinical environment with the goal of positively influencing the delivery of healthcare services.

    -In collaboration with other nursing leadership, ensures the delivery of high-quality care on the unit. Acts as a clinical resource/expert to staff.
    -Utilizes adult learning principles to determine what training, support and resources are needed for new employees during their orientation period and beyond.
    -Assess learning needs, competencies, strengths, and opportunities to improve critical thinking, interpersonal and technical skills of the nursing staff.
    -Collaborate with physician and other members of the nursing leadership team to ensure well-coordinated, interdisciplinary programs of care.
    -Works with nursing leadership to develop and uphold unit and hospital policies and procedures, based on research and evidence-based practice.
    -Manage the orientation process for all new hires with successful outcomes. Development and delivery of preceptor program.
    -Assist the staff in the advancement of their professional development in an ongoing manner
    -Engage intra- and inter professional groups in problem solving, team building and incorporating changes in individual and organizational needs
    -Remain current in best practice care in healthcare and assure utilization of same by professional staff in the care of patients. Initiates, replicates, and applies findings from research.
    -Active participation in assigned hospital based committees.
    -Works collaboratively with other Clinical Educators providing required education for employees.

    RN educators must have 3-5 years of clinical experience in the acute care setting, with at least 1 year experience within their nursing specialty preferred. BSN is preferred.

    Educators must possess all required certifications within their specialty area (i.e., TNCC, PALS, NRP). Specialty certification (i.e., CCRN, CEN) required within 1 year of hire.

    The position may be combined with clinical RN hours to maintain FT hours.
